How Waasem actually works
An honest look at the methodology behind your result — what it's based on, how it's scored, and what it isn't.
What this is
Waasem is a self-report screening tool. You answer a set of behavioral, situational questions on a 1–5 scale, and we turn your answers into a personality and career-fit snapshot. It is not a clinical or psychometric diagnostic instrument, and it isn't a substitute for professional career counseling or a mental health assessment — think of it as a structured, useful starting point for reflection and conversation, not a verdict.
The three tests, and where their dimensions come from
Depending on what you're looking for, Waasem runs one of three tests, each built around five dimensions:
Built on the Big Five (OCEAN) model — one of the most widely used, openly documented frameworks in personality psychology.
- 🌅Openness
- 🗂️Conscientiousness
- 🎤Extraversion
- 🤝Agreeableness
- 🧘Emotional Stability
Loosely inspired by Howard Gardner's theory of multiple intelligences and research on learning styles. We say "inspired by," not "is" — we've adapted the idea into five practical dimensions rather than using Gardner's framework exactly as published.
- 🔢Quantitative Reasoning
- 📖Verbal & Humanities
- 🔬Scientific Curiosity
- 🛠️Practical & Hands-On
- 🎭Artistic Expression
A proprietary framework we built in-house for this product. It isn't a named academic model, and we'd rather say that plainly than imply outside validation it doesn't have.
- 🧠Analytical Thinking
- 🎨Creativity & Innovation
- 🗣️Communication & Persuasion
- 🗂️Discipline & Organization
- 🌊Adaptability & EQ
How scoring works
Each question asks you to rate a statement from 1 (strongly disagree) to 5 (strongly agree). We average your answers within each dimension — flipping any reverse-worded questions first so they all point the same direction — then convert that average to a 0–100 scale.
How your recommendations are built
Your results don't come from looking at just your single highest trait. We compare your complete five-dimension profile against a catalog of careers and learning paths, each with its own weighted mix of which dimensions actually matter for it — so a role that genuinely needs two strong traits will only show up if you actually have both, not just one.
Limitations, stated plainly
- The test currently asks 25 questions (5 per dimension). That's a meaningful sample, but a longer test would always be more reliable — we're balancing depth against your time.
- Like any self-report tool, it measures how you see yourself, which isn't always identical to how you actually behave.
- It's a starting point for reflection and conversation, not a substitute for professional career counseling or a clinical psychological assessment.
